BATCH, a versatile culinary space in Ixelles, Belgium designed by Erased Studio

Founded by Elliott Housiaux and Paul-Emile De Smedt, Erased Studio provides concept-led creative services rooted in architectural thinking. Through architecture, interior design, scenography, and art direction, the studio works in service of brands, institutions, agencies, and artists. Their rigorous, highly aesthetic approach binds each project together, permeating every decision with the intent of forging new and exciting narratives.

Erased Studio recently finished BATCH, a café, restaurant and bar operating day and night situated in two adjacent buildings in Ixelles, Belgium. The studio redefined the layout of the former bakery-restaurant, designing diverse atmospheres across different levels and multiple rooms while ensuring smooth transitions between them.

Taking inspiration from traditional Belgian brasseries, the interior design of BATCH seamlessly blends classical and contemporary elements, transitioning from a bright and inviting ambiance during the day to a cozy and intimate atmosphere at night. Carefully chosen textures, colors and materials such as glossy lacquered wood, weathered metal and glass bricks define the unique identity of BATCH. In addition to the interior design, Erased Studio managed the artistic direction of BATCH, creating custom furniture pieces and collaborating with graphic designer Lisbeth Antoine to establish a cohesive visual identity.
