Francis Gallery curates works by emerging international artists and presents their pieces in a relaxed setting informed by Korean aesthetics. Located in both Bath and Los Angeles, an atmosphere of tranquility and composure prevails.

Rosa Park, the director and curator of Francis Gallery and co-founder of Cereal, balances her Korean cultural heritage with respect for the local setting. A private collector for over a decade, her passion for modern art resulted in the establishment of Francis Gallery in Bath in 2018. In October 2022, Francis opened its second location in Los Angeles, joining some of the city’s most celebrated galleries and design ateliers in West Hollywood.

For the Los Angeles establishment, Park worked closely with Los Angeles-based studio BC. By taking a site-sensitive approach to interior architecture and drawing inspiration from classic Korean forms, the interior design office was able to preserve the building while transforming the look and feel of the interior.

Park’s Korean heritage plays an important role in the design choices of the galleries and the works Francis curates. Incredible details, such as hanji paper sheets in the crittal doors of the Bath gallery and Korean wrapping cloths for online orders, pay homage to her roots.

Francis’s website is another place to engage with the artists and their work. An archive of stories about individual philosophies, working processes, sources of inspiration and new projects can be found on the visually pleasing site, that radiates the same serene energy as the gallery spaces.
