Ileana Moro conveys a wide spectrum of feelings through the interplay of delicate shadows and layers of light
Born in Costa Rica, Ileana Moro currently resides and operates as a self-taught painter in Antwerp, a Belgian city renowned for its contributions to fashion, art, and design. Following her architectural studies, she utilized art as a medium for self-expression and the exploration of her inner emotions. Moro adeptly conveys a wide spectrum of feelings through her creations, playing with the interaction of delicate shadows and layers of light. Employing a palette of darker tones, she exposes the depths and layers of experiences as an instinctive relationship to the invisible things. Ileana Moro seeks to achieve a sense of balance through the transformation from shadow to light in her pieces, driven by the belief that shadows serve as an influential and powerful teacher.
She often uses oval forms in her works, which symbolise the birth of an unseen identity and the essence of growth, showcasing the transformative power of nature and the cycle of existence. With each of her pieces, the emerging multidisciplinary artist strives to forge a sense of connection between the observer and the divine, reminding us all of our place in the infinite and enigmatic universe. Moro’s works can be characterized as an expression of the spiritual longing for a profound connection to the mysteries of life.
